Dr. Janet Pope
As a seasoned education policy expert with the Louisiana School Boards Association (LSBA), Dr. Janet Pope specializes in governmental affairs and school accountability frameworks. With over 15 years advising school boards on BESE regulations and legislative compliance, she brings deep insight into how policy impacts classroom instruction and student outcomes. Dr. Pope holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and has authored multiple LSBA white papers on K–12 accountability.
Kelly LaBauve
Kelly LaBauve serves as Advocacy and Legislative Relations Director at LSBA. A former high school business teacher and longtime public education advocate, she leads LSBA’s efforts to influence state policy. Kelly’s expertise includes K–12 and postsecondary liaison, especially in crafting career and technical education (CTE) pathways for business teachers. She frequently testifies before legislative committees and collaborates with BESE to ensure classroom perspectives shape statewide policy.
